ASHGABAT, May 15. Yesterday the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which examined the issues of socio-economic development of the country.

At the meeting the Deputy Head of the Government M. Akmammedov reported on the completion of cotton sowing.

During the meeting the President of Turkmenistan signed a series of regulations aimed at the further socio-economic and cultural development of the country.

Mass cotton sowing began in South Kazakhstan area

Shymkent. May 7. Kazakhstan Today - Mass cotton sowing began in the South Kazakhstan area. Vice chairman of the Regional Agriculture Department, Kanatbek Ospanbekov, informed, the agency reports.

"Cotton growers have sown nearly 2 thousand hectares by the beginning of the week and, as of today, they have sown 14 thousand hectares. It is much less as compared to the parameters of the last year when 50 thousand hectares were sown during a similar period," K. Ospanbekov informed.

As informed earlier, late beginning of mass sowing of cotton in the South Kazakhstan area has been caused by long rains.

"No problem: if the sunny weather keeps for three or four days, we will equal the time-frame with the last year’s one and finish the sowing quickly" - said K. Ospanbekov.

According to the Office of Agriculture in South Kazakhstan, this year wheat occupies 165 hectares (in 2008 - 138 thousand hectares), vegetables - 23 thousand hectares (26.8 thousand hectares), melons - 25.7 thousand hectares (28 thousand 800 hectares), safflower - 53 thousand 200 hectares (49 thousand hectares) in the region. They plan that the area under cotton will be 158 thousand 400 hectares (last year - 174 thousand 700 hectares).

Manufacturing expands

Uzbek-American joint venture “Mushtari International Ltd.” operating in Namangan produced official form kits worth about 224 million sums in the first quarter of this year.

In cooperation with foreign partners, the reconstruction of a four-storey building of the industrial enterprise is in full swing now. After its completion and workshop equipping, additional two hundred and fifty people will be placed in a job here.

Capacity of entrepreneurs and farmers increases

Favorable conditions created in our country for the development of business and farming movement, promote the raise of the share of private producers in the total GDP, contribute to their involvement in social issues, including those related to employment.

Many private enterprises in deep processing of local raw materials, producing competitive products have appeared in Andijan region. Private firm “Barchinoy Textile” in Hodzhabad area is among these compact enterprises as well.

Having bought the building of an unoccupied mall, entrepreneurs established a knitting factory, which now employs 300 villagers. The modern company equipped with imported equipment produces more than 180 items from yarn, including knitted products for children and adults. Its production capacity is 8.5 million items per year. Last year T-shirts and shirts with the logo of the company were shipped to Russia, Turkey and Germany. Their first trading house has opened in Moscow recently.

- This year we intend to increase the export volume to 250 thousand dollars, - said the chief accountant of the company Mirzohid Sheraliev. – Having expanded the production, we plan to create 100 new jobs. Tax benefits provided by the Government of Uzbekistan allow saving means and using them for strengthening the material-technical base, expansion of the production.

Farmer’s self-sustaining tractor

Plantations of farm “Dilnur Muhtor” in Hankin area are located far from outskirts of Tamadkrgadik, one of the oldest villages in Khorezm, where its head Sattorov Hubaybergenov lives. Now they are conducting washing watering here. But not only for that the farmer holds a recently acquired brand-new tractor MTZ-80 “Belarus” under a small shed near his house, “having expelled” his personal minibus ”Damas” from it to the open and rainy sky at this time.

- High expectations are linked to this tractor in our farm, - explains S. Hudaibergenov. - Last year season we cultivated 27 hectares of cotton and wheat fields. This year they have expanded to nearly 70 hectares. Therefore, this machine is to have a lot of work since the beginning of planting and till the end of harvesting. Besides, we need to compensate the cost of its acquisition.

- According to the agreement with a local cotton ginning plant, this season we must grow and sell 102 tons of cotton to the state on the 40 hectares set aside for the main crop, - willingly shares these calculations S. Hudaibergenov. - Revenues should make 43 million 860 thousand sums. The planned harvest of wheat grain will bring more than 13 million as well.

A new enterprise is put into operation

Joint-stock company “Kalaroma Teks” opened in Beshariq area of Ferghana region.

They conduct a large-scale work on modernization of production, and mobilization of investment in the country. Decree “On additional measures to encourage mobilization of direct private foreign investments” by the Head of the State from April 11th, 2005 is an important impetus for this.

The company established in accordance with State program “Year of development and improvement of village” specializes in production of knitted goods from cotton fiber. The organization of the work on the basis of modern technologies allows improving their quality. They exported more than 80 percent of their products.

Since the launch of the company 600 guys and girls are provided with new jobs.

They got jobs

They increased production volumes and created new jobs in LLC ”Zhondormegatekstilservis” of Bukhara region. The number of professionals and workers here has reached 80.

In this company located in village Humdonak of Dzhandar area, they dyed the yarn for production of colored towels at related productions in the city of Bukhara and Romitan area. Now there is no need for this anymore. In one of densely populated villages of Pochchoyi area they put into operation a dyer's workshop equipped with modern technology. This will allow the company to save 4.5-5 million sums every month and create new jobs. In addition, they organize production of coarse calico here.
